Professional Development

Oxley is committed to a Quality Service which includes Quality of Nurses it provides to healthcare facilities.  To achieve this aim, Oxley encourages its nurse members to participate in professional development opportunities to assist them in their nursing career.

Oxley provides reimbursement to its members for training courses*:

Annually:

• CPR
• Advanced Life Support (Critical Care)
• Occupational Health and Safety / Fire Safety
• Infection Control
• Manual Handling and Back Care
• Medication Calculations and Administration (RNs & ENs)
• Workplace Health and Safety
• Managing Aggressive Behaviours

Every 2 years:

• Medication Assist (AIN only)

Every 3 years:

• First Aid (AIN only)

Your clinical focus may include additional reviews, e.g. critical care, rural and remote nursing, residential and community care.  If the courses are required then Oxley will either reimburse for the costs of course attendance or provide a pro rata payment.

To apply for reimbursement please complete a Mandatory Competencies Reimbursement Form and return to the Training Coordinator as detailed below.

LIKE TO ATTEND A COURSE OR CONFERENCE?

If you would like to attend a course or a conference, Oxley may assist you with providing reimbursement for either the course cost or conference registration.

To take advantage of this offer, please complete an Application for Pre-Approval to Attend a Course not offered by Oxley and forward either by mail, fax or email to the Training Coordinator.

It would be appreciated if applications to attend a professional development opportunity could be received at least 4 weeks prior to the commencement of the program.
